Google has recently revealed that malware often targets older versions of Android to avoid restrictions introduced in SDK version 23 and higher. By default, you won't be able to install apps that target an SDK version lower than 23, which was introduced with Android 6 back in 2015.

Android 14 is set to roll out to all recently released Android devices, although it may take some time to reach all phones and tablets.
